A practical guide
to your bot team.
Marrs Bot gives your AI helpers a shared home. Each bot has its own instructions, conversation and choice of connected model. Start with BOB, then add specialists when you need them.
Get started with BOB
- Create your Marrs account, or sign in if you already have one.
- Open Settings & connections and connect an AI account. One connection is enough to begin.
- Review the available models, choose what powers BOB, and continue to your bots.
- Give BOB a clear goal. Include the result you want and any limits he should respect.
“BOB, help me plan my week and draft customer updates. Suggest a small team, then create the specialists I need using my connected models.”
BOB includes an app guide where the server supports it. You can edit his name, icon and custom instructions without removing that built-in guide.
Connect your AI—not just your Marrs account
Your Marrs login opens your workspace. A separate AI connection lets your bots run model requests.
Subscription sign-ins
Start with ChatGPT, Grok or GitHub Copilot. Choose a provider, open its sign-in page, approve the device code there, then return to Marrs Bot. Keep the connections page open while approval and model discovery finish. Use “I’ve approved — check status” if needed.
Optional APIs
Gemini, Claude and OpenCode Zen have a separate API setup section where a compatible server supports it. These are not consumer subscription logins. Read the billing guidance before entering a key in the app; never paste keys into a bot conversation.
Gemini, Claude and Meta subscription sign-ins are not currently available. A listed model is not a guarantee of account access or remaining quota.
Make the team your own
Left-click a bot to open its conversation. Right-click—or use Shift+F10 on a focused bot—to open its actions. Edit its profile to change its name, icon and instructions; use AI & model to choose its connection and model for future messages.
Pin bots or group chats, organize them in sections, and drag within or between sections. Use Select bots to move several at once or create a group with your selected bots. An actions button is also available for touch users. Use a group chat for a shared goal where your server supports groups; members take turns, with separate group context rather than merging individual chats.
In the profile’s App permissions, you can allow a manager bot to create and edit other bots. This does not grant access to passwords, billing, other customers or server settings. Only you can change that permission. If the control requires a server update, it cannot be enabled just by asking the bot.
Read the Feed and usage
Open Feed above My bots to see tasks waiting to start, active work and completed tasks. Select a bot to narrow the view.
On updated servers, the usage panel groups recorded input and output tokens by bot or model over 7 or 30 days. These are activity measurements—not your remaining subscription allowance or a bill.
If you see “Daily usage isn’t available from this worker yet,” the server needs an update. Refreshing the page or reinstalling the desktop app will not supply missing server data. Older work only has usage where it was recorded.
Use the browser or a desktop app
Your bots, conversations and AI connections stay on your server workspace. Desktop apps keep local sign-in and cache data. Closing a client does not stop server work, but the server and AI provider must remain available.
See available downloads and platform-specific installation guidance. Desktop beta builds are unsigned and do not yet provide full control of your local computer. On ChromeOS, install the web app from Chrome; it needs an internet connection and receives published interface updates when reopened or refreshed. Android is not available yet.
Desktop version 0.2.0-alpha.3 and later check for updates and offer Help → Check for updates. Older installations need one manual upgrade. Close the app and install over the existing version; do not delete its data folders first. macOS currently requires manual replacement.
Know the current beta limits
- Up to ten saved bots, including BOB. Older servers may need an update to unlock all ten.
- One active task across the account at a time, including tasks waiting for your approval. Finish or stop that task before starting another.
- No trial countdown currently runs. Marrs Bot is free during beta; provider limits and API charges are separate.
- Availability depends on your server version and AI account. Disabled controls and update notices indicate capabilities that are not ready on your server.
When a task needs approval, review the action before allowing it. If a task was interrupted, check its status before repeating a request that could have an external effect.
